On April 26, Chester Grant, a 40-year-old flatmate to Tamilore Odunsi, a 23-year-old British Houston Nursing student, stabbed her to death after an argument over their cats, Houston police in the US say. The Houston police, who found her, reported multiple stab wounds.
Chester Lamar Grant is currently facing a murder charge. According to the Houston Police Department statement, officers knocked on her door, but there was no answer. They saw blood on a rear concrete patio and entered the apartment.
They found Tamilore in the kitchen, suffering from numerous stab wounds. The Officers also discovered Chester Grant in the bedroom with at least one stab wound.
Tamilore was pronounced dead at the scene. Grant was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Tamilore was a student studying in the US. She was first found in an apartment in Houston, Texas, brutally stabbed to death. This was just a few days before her graduation day.
Houston police reported the two had been roommates for just a couple of months and were in a spat over their cats. They had an argument, which escalated with Grant stabbing Tamilore before trying to take his own life. Police took Grant to the Harris County Jail on Saturday. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Tamilore’s family started a GoFundMe account to repatriate her remains to the UK for burial.
“Tami was a beautiful soul, full of light, ambition, and kindness,” the fundraiser reads. “She was just 23 years old. A devoted Christian, she was a God-fearing young woman who found strength and joy in her faith. She had a deep love for her church community, where she was actively involved and always eager to serve others with humility and grace.” Grant is slated to appear in court on Monday.
