Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, reaffirmed her commitment to Nigeria urging for the safe return of the 25 abducted schoolgirls in Maga, Kebbi State.Â
The Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has reaffirmed her dedication to serving Nigerians, saying she remains committed to giving her best to the country.
Her commitment is in response to the recent reports of the 25 girls who were abducted on Nov. 17, 2025.
On November 25, on X, Betta wrote that she has always given her best to the country, saying she spent “unending hours going through places where people of my status will never condescend to; just to bring succour to the poor and vulnerable who are the most important in our society.”
Betta urged Nigerians to remain united and support ongoing efforts to address insecurity across the country. She said her heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones this period, adding that renewed security strategies introduced by President Bola Tinubu would lead to the safe return of the schoolgirls and others abducted in different parts of the country.
“Every life matters, and we must stand together as a nation to fight poverty and insecurity,” she said.
The former minister added that she remains hopeful that the country will overcome its current challenges.
“Those children and persons abducted in Kebbi, Niger and other places will return home in safety! Every life matters; we must stand together to fight poverty and insecurity as a nation!“
