Summary

The federal government has launched a digital learning platform to promote equitable access to education for Nigerian students. This initiative, known as The Inspire platform, is a real-time online class designed to cover all Nigerian students from primary level to Senior Secondary school.

The Federal Ministry of Education has launched a nationwide digital learning programme, Inspire Live(s), to equip Nigerian students with equitable access to quality education. This new development was announced in a statement issued and signed by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

The Inspire platform is a real-time online class designed to cover all Nigerian students from primary to senior secondary school levels. Its purpose is to guarantee continuous academic activities for students, regardless of their physical location. Accessibility is available to both private and government-owned educational institutions nationwide.

The Ministry described the initiative as a step toward democratising access to quality education and addressing the challenges of underfunding, teacher shortages, and recurring disruptions in the sector. The platform will provide interactive, teacher-led lessons directly to students, regardless of their location. Currently, the Inspire platform offers classes for Junior and Senior Secondary students, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. These classes are reportedly taught by certified master teachers using Cisco Webex.

The statement noted that school principals will strictly handle registration for participation through the Inspire support channels. All state education commissioners have been directed to nominate a State Focal Officer to coordinate the implementation and ensure that both public and private school principals receive the full programme details.

Currently, junior secondary school students can access subjects including Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, and Business Studies.

Senior secondary students can access the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Catering Craft, Civic Education, and Automobile Mechanics.

“For participation and further enquiries, schools and stakeholders are advised to visit inspire.education.gov.ng or contact the Ministry’s Desk Officers,” the statement concludes.
