The footage captured the Nov. 18, 2025, assault in which armed men killed three people and abducted several others.
The attack took place during a service at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, in Eruku community, where armed men opened fire around 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 18, 2025, killing Tunde Asabe, Segun Alaja, and Deremi, according to community leaders. Several worshippers, including the church pastor, were abducted and taken into the surrounding forest.
On Nov. 19, 2025, Funke Akindele said she was devastated by the scenes of panic, especially the moment an elderly woman struggling to walk tried to run for safety.
“Woke up to see a livestream video of people being attacked inside a church in Kwara. This is sad and disturbing. I wept seeing that old woman who couldn’t walk well running for safety,” she wrote.
The Kwara State Police Command, in a statement released on Nov. 19, 2025, confirmed the killings and ongoing efforts to rescue the abducted congregants.
