Summary
Mr Abu Azeez Abolaji, a married man, has been called out on X (formerly Twitter) for attempting to cheat on his wife with a 20-year-old university student who turned him down.
Nigerian married man Abu Azeez Abolaji has been called out for attempting to cheat on his wife and harassing the lady who refused to engage in the act with him. The incident unfolded on X on Jan. 11, 2024, when user Tolani @missionarylani called out the married man for harassment after he quoted photos of her from Apr. 2024 with the caption, “Make I never talk.” The lady, Tolani, replied, “Until I tag your wife and tell her to ask you to stop harassing me?”
When asked why Abu Azeez was harassing her, Tolani revealed that she collected money to see him, unaware that he was married. She decided not to see him anymore and offered to refund him, but he refused.
“Took come over money. He’s a married man. He kept disturbing me, let me send it back to you, and said he’s too big for that. Oya stop disturbing my phone he keeps threatening me with I’ll drag you on Twitter, disturbing my sc and IG. Yes, I’m a thief. Leave me alone bro go to your wife,” she said.
In a thread posted by Tolani with accompanying evidence to set things straight on Jan. 12, 2025, Tolani revealed that the money sent was 12,000 Naira which she offered to return many times (as also posted in the screenshots). She also revealed that she did not know he was married till Jan. 2025.
“I want to set some things straight. I DID NOT know he was married when we started talking. He had been texting me since September (2024), and I would acknowledge his compliments occasionally.”
Tolani also mentioned that she found out that this was not his first rodeo, as he had done the same to about two other people despite being married.
“At every point, I kept asking him to send his account number. The only thing I regret is panicking and begging (and that was after I’d heard about the type of person he was and got spooked because he knew where I was).”
“I’m well aware people would believe what they want to and even close their eyes to the truth even if it’s very glaring. I am not doing this to prove anything to those people. I only believe it’s right I clear up any misconceptions or false interpretations of the whole story,” she concluded.
The controversial tweet, which currently has 1.3m views on X (formerly Twitter), has several Nigerians condemning the married man Abu Azeez.
“For a country that claims to be cultured, we normalise a lot of weird behaviour because how is a married man boasting about using Twitter to mess up a girl’s reputation because he couldn’t sleep with her?!” said @debbieolan_
“Too many Nigerian women are married to men who do not have the tiniest bit of respect for them.
Attempting to drag a woman you wanted to cheat on your wife with in public, knowing your wife and her friends/family can see it, shows that she means NOTHING to you.” @AnActualOrisa quote-tweeted.
As of this story’s publication, Abu Azeez has not officially commented on the matter.
