Paystack has terminated its co-founder and CTO, Ezra Olubi, following public reports of sexual misconduct. He has since retained legal counsel to review his dismissal. As of now, Paystack hasn’t issued a public statement since Ezra’s termination.Â
Paystack has fired its co-founder and chief technology officer, Ezra Olubi, following public reports of sexual misconduct involving a junior employee and resurfaced disturbing tweets. Ezra Olubi announced his dismissal in a personal blog post on November 23, 2025.
The incident surfaced weeks ago after Ezra’s former partner, Max Obae, accused him of abusive behaviour, drawing widespread attention and prompting the resurfacing of explicit tweets by him dating back over a decade. The series of disturbing tweets from 2009–2013 revealed graphic references to rape, pedophilia, zoophilia, and inappropriate comments and pictures about female colleagues.
In response, Paystack suspended Ezra Olubi and said it had launched a formal investigation, including plans to appoint an independent investigator to review the claims and the company’s internal procedures.
Ezra, however, stated in a press release that he was abruptly terminated before the investigation was concluded. He claimed he was not given a meeting or a chance to respond, describing the action as a breach of Paystack’s internal policies.
“My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies,” he wrote.
As of now, Paystack hasn’t issued a public statement since Ezra’s termination. However, there have also been increasing calls for the police to investigate Ezra for his comments and confessions on X.
