The event reinforced the importance of structure, financial discipline, and strategic growth, equipping women with the tools needed to thrive in Nigeria’s competitive business landscape.
On Thursday, Mar. 20, 2025, women entrepreneurs from across Nigeria gathered at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference Center for the highly anticipated “Business Boost Lab.” The transformative training held by She Leads Africa was designed to equip women with essential skills in revenue management, finance, customer retention, and digital marketing.
The exclusive women-only event brought together industry experts, including management consultant Olaoluwa Adedeji, digital skills trainer Victoria Victor Okon, global speaker and trainer Dr. Segun Manuel, and Emmanuel Lennox, Co-founder and Group Chief Operating Officer at Kudimata, among others. The keynote address was delivered by Kathleen Erhimu, Founder and Group Managing Director at Kudimata, who emphasised the need for women to build financially sustainable and strategically structured businesses.
The training featured hands-on sessions, starting with “Revenue Management and Pricing Strategies”, where participants learned how to optimise their pricing models for business growth. This was followed by “Finance and Tax Essentials for Entrepreneurs,” a session that simplified complex financial concepts and helped attendees understand budgeting, tax compliance, and financial discipline.
Customer retention took center stage in the afternoon with a session on “Customer Retention Strategies and Measuring Customer Satisfaction,” where attendees explored loyalty programs, effective feedback systems, and customer-first business models. The event also featured specialised breakout sessions on “Business Process Improvement,” which focused on operational efficiency and company handbook development, and “Digital Marketing Specialization,” where women entrepreneurs gained insights into online brand visibility, audience engagement, and data-driven marketing strategies.
One of the speakers emphasised the importance of business structure and financial discipline, stating, “Businesses don’t have emotions. You must manage costs and have a clear financial structure. Many women keep separate business accounts to avoid mixing personal and business funds. If you don’t step back and do a reality check, your business will fail within the first five years.”
The event concluded with a feedback session and closing remarks, followed by a group photo to mark the successful completion of the training.
