Armed terrorists attacked the Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman, nursing mothers and several children. Residents said the attackers moved through the community, firing shots and forcing people from their homes.
Armed terrorists on Nov. 24, 2025, raided the Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State around 6:00 PM, abducting a pregnant woman, nursing mothers and several children, according to local sources.
This incident comes after a livestream showed armed men attacking worshippers inside Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, in Eruku community on Nov. 18, 2025. The video captured worshippers scrambling for safety, including an older woman who struggled to escape as the gunmen fired repeatedly.
In the Isapa incident, residents said the attackers, described as herders, stormed the community with a large herd of cattle and began shooting to force people out of their homes.
Community leaders identified the abducted as a pregnant woman, Sarah Sunday; two nursing mothers, Lami Fidelis and Haja Na Allah; and several children — Magaji (6), Kande (5), Hadiza (10), Mariam (6), Saima (5), and Talatu Kabiru (20). Two housewives, Habibat and Fatima Yusufu, were also taken.
Residents reported that the gunmen moved through different parts of Isapa, firing at random and leaving bullet holes in doors and walls. Spent AK-47 shells were found across the community after the attackers fled. An elderly woman who was struck by a stray bullet received treatment and was discharged, according to police. The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the Isapa attack on Nov. 25, 2025, saying tactical teams and vigilante groups had been deployed into nearby forests for a search-and-rescue operation.
