Summary

Although Kamala Harris did not win the #USAElection2024, many Americans commended her for contesting in the race, reiterating that she was their preferred candidate.

Following the results of the United States 2024 Presidential elections, Americans who voted for Kamala Harris expressed their disappointment at the outcome of the polls while stating they are proud of the Democratic Party candidate for a great campaign.

Donald Trump won the election with 295 votes and over 72 million votes, with 50.9% of votes going to him, while Kamala held 47.6% of votes with over 67 million votes and a score of 226.

Cardi B shared her pride in the vice president, stating that despite the outcome, she had changed her mind forever and shown her, her daughters, and women worldwide how powerful a woman of colour could be.

“No need to nasty, y’all picked your winner…All we can do is be hopeful and wish the best. Before Kamala joined the race, we knew how this country was set up and what was probably going to happen.” Cardi B said. “But it was so inspiring to see how she fought and changed so many minds, including mine.”

In a press release, former President Barrack Obama, who also campaigned for her, stated that Michelle Obama and he were very proud of Kamala for trying to make a difference and running a remarkable campaign. He also thanked all staff members and volunteers who put their heart into the campaign.

“This is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues. But living in a democracy is about recognising that our point of view won’t always win out and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power,” he said.

Incumbent President Joe Biden also expressed his pride in Kamala and declared that she would continue the fight with “determination, purpose, and joy.”

“As I’ve said before, selecting Kamala was the very first decision I made when I became the nominee for President in 2020. It was the best decision I made. Her story represents the best of America’s story. And as she made clear today, I do not doubt that she’ll continue to write that story,” Joe said.

Kamala, who respected the electorate’s choice, addressed the nation at Howard University on November 6, 2024. She informed her supporters that she was not planning on giving up the fight that fueled her campaign.
