The Women’s Rights Network took to X to urge women to wear red to commemorate #XXDay for Global women's visibility day
As the world grows increasingly “woke” or modern as some might say, a lot of lines are getting increasingly blurred, and the spaces of women are gradually becoming occupied by transgender males.
In recent times, trans male athletes have been allowed to compete in female sports, invading spaces designed for women and girls to promote equity. While followers of trans ideology falsely claim that allowing males to compete in women’s sports is a form of feminism, feminists assert that males should not compete with men because they identify as trans.
Coined from the XX chromosome that makes an egg female and the Roman numeral X, which stands for the number 10, women have chosen to celebrate XX Day or Global Women Visibility Day as a way of stating that women are human beings and should have rights that protect them from other people who were not born female.
To commemorate this day, the Women’s Rights Network took to X to urge women to wear red to commemorate this day. The day’s celebration is the idea of gender critic Sapph Olives.
“10.10. #XXDay. The first global Women’s Visibility Day. We are adult human females, 51% of the population, yet there are those who want us to be silent, to be invisible. We refuse. We resist. We wear red to display our defiance,” Women’s Rights Network shared. “We wear red on behalf of those women who cannot do so. Wherever you are, wear red on Thursday if you are able to. This is OUR day. Share your pictures if you wish to!”
Athletic brand XX-XY Athletics has also asked for support in calling out Nike to “do the right thing and stand up for women” as the top-leading brand in sports globally. Nike is at the top of the leaderboard when it comes to providing athletic apparel worldwide, with the company raking in over 50 billion US dollars in 2023.
“Dear Nike, why won’t you support women? Why do you claim to support women and girls, yet when they need you the most, you remain silent? Today, males are claiming our identity, our sports, our spaces. Men are stealing our sports, our medals, our trophies, our futures,” a video by the brand states.
The XX-XY Athletics brand is owned by an experienced elite and brand executive, Jessica Sey. She started the brand to advocate for the rights and safety of women and girls in sports.
