Kamala Harris, the former Vice President and Presidential aspirant of the United States, has condemned and faulted the actions of President Donald Trump over U.S military action in Iran. She termed the action as “unauthorised war” and warned of its harm to American troops.
On Saturday, February 28, 2028, the United States, together with Israel, launched a massive, coordinated military operation against Iran. The attack was codenamed Epic Fury by the U.S. and Operation Roaring Lion by Israel. Both countries reportedly said that the attack was carried out in response to humanitarian calls, to protect the interests of Americans in the region, prevent nuclear weapons production, and urge a change of government. Key national individuals, including the Supreme Leader Supreme leader Ali Khamenei, were killed.
In a statement posted on her X platform on Saturday, February 28, 2026, Kamala openly opposed Trump’s choice of military attack on Iran. She stated that the United States was being drawn into a “regime-change war” that could endanger American troops and undermine its international standing.
“This is a dangerous and unnecessary gamble with American lives that also jeopardises stability in the region and our standing in the world. What we are witnessing is not strength. It is recklessness dressed up as a resolve,” she expressed.
While acknowledging Iran’s threat, the political leader argued that a military attack is not the solution. She referred to Trump’s campaign, noting he promised to “end wars rather than start them.” She stressed that even if Trump has the authority of Congress, his actions remain unwise, unjustified, and lack the support of the public.
She urged Congress not to support Trump’s war choice, but rather to use all available power to prevent him from deepening the country’s commitment to the conflict with Iran.
“There can be no equivocation in our opposition to Donald Trump’s war of choice, and Congress must use all available power to prevent him from further committing us to this conflict. Our troops, our allies, and the American people deserved nothing less,” Kamala said.
