On July 4, 2026, Lahor Talk Podcast posted an interview with entrepreneur Keji Giwa, owner of Giwa Garden City, in which he made a series of contradictory and skewed statements justifying gender inequality.
Keji said, “A man and a woman are not equal. They complement each other, but they’re not equal.” Contradicting his presumption, he went further to suggest that women are more emotionally intelligent and have a higher IQ than men, that men are naturally more animalistic with brute strength to attack, and that society should “respect the role of a man and respect the role of a woman” rather than treat the sexes as the same.
He further made unfounded claims like “biology alone has defined what a man and what a woman is” in a skewed way to exacerbate disinformation about gender equality.

‘A man and woman are not equal because they are not the same’
Keji confuses equality with sameness. The human race is not a monolith. We are all biologically different. We differ in skin colour, strength, intelligence, and physical capacity. Even among men there are differences in size, weight, and strength.
While men have greater upper body strength, they do not have the ability to bring forth life; only women do. Male strength is not superior to women’s ability to bring forth life. We simply have different biological advantages.
Humans do not have to be the same to be equal. Some humans have larger biological spleens, and some have greater lungs. Some are white, some are black. Some are male, and some are female. We are all still equally human.
Keji’s logic on inequality parallels that of slave masters
Keji’s biological argument and pseudoscience are what built racial hierarchy and led to the idea that black people are inferior. The idea that because some set of people are not the same, and some are seemingly more accomplished, is what justified slavery, and the colonisation of African societies and African bodies.
White people argue that because they look biologically different from black people, and because they have built more technologies than black people, and of course because there are biblical references that can be made to justify slavery, this makes black people unequal to white people, and subsequently their indignity and colonisation as slaves.
Keji borrows the same argument and tactics, with constant references to the Bible to justify gender inequality. The irony of a black man using lack of sameness and biblical references to justify inequality and indignity speaks for itself.
‘Women’s emotional intelligence vs male aggression as a marker of superiority’
Keji claims that women are more emotionally intelligent, more empathetic, and have higher Intelligence Quotients (IQ). He noted that, on the contrary, men are more aggressive, something he claims is in their nature.
Shockingly, Keji accords women’s emotional intelligence as evidence of “inferiority, in which they can only use it to scream,” and males’ aggression as a “strength, enough to scare.”
Despite emotional intelligence being a positive behavioural marker, and aggression being a negative behavioural marker, the entrepreneur switches the marker in an attempt to justify his position of gender inequality.
Keji further claims his analysis of male aggression and female emotional intelligence is biological, in fact natural, but what does the science say?
Large-scale research on IQ, pooling data across dozens of studies and tens of thousands of people, finds the difference between men and women is negligible. Statistically, both males and females are equally intelligent.
On emotional intelligence, both male and female animals are equally aggressive, and in some cases the females show more aggression. The difference in humans is due to social conditioning and grooming. Women have been trained since they were girls to perform quietly and without credit, while men have been groomed to not show emotions and to “man up.” The differences are not nature; they are more of nurture.
“Respect the role of a man, respect the role of a woman”
Keji uses the phrase “respect the role of a man” and “respect the role of a woman” as though the role is self-evident. But he never says what it is. What is the role of a man and that of a woman?
Given his position, he likely suggests women’s role is to submit and care for the home, while men’s role is to provide and lead. However, these are not natural roles; they are ones ascribed by society, and have led to gender inequality, where women do more unpaid labour, have less political representation, and fewer economic resources. Gender roles are known to exacerbate gender inequality, limit autonomy, impede societal progress and sustainable development. They should not be respected but changed to allow for greater individual and societal progress.
“Let’s go back to when things really made sense”
Keji asks society to go back to when “things made sense.” But do not say when, exactly. After all, it cannot be selective. If we are going back, we go back to all of it. Back to child marriage. Back to the killing of twins. Back to when women were locked out of education and voting. Back to women locked out of the workforce. Back to female genital mutilation normalised as culture. Back to the normalisation of gender based violence. Back to slavery itself, where society rules on the notion of human superiority.
Keji seems to suggest there is something wrong with a society that makes progress towards women’s liberation, freedom, gender equality and human respect and dignity. But could never state why.
“Passing the baton from father to husband”
Keji frames marriage as a situation in which women are handed over as property to their husbands for protection, and positions it as ideal. He says the father passes his daughter to a husband because it is his job to keep her safe, and the husband takes over that job.
However, Keji fails to explain why a son is never passed anywhere. Does a father’s job to keep his son safe end? Why is the son not handed off like an asset changing hands? Why do boys and girls equally grow into adulthood, but only women are infantilised and incapable of making their own decisions? If men and women are equally intelligent, why do women still need to rely on or submit to male intellect? And why not the other way around?
Again, Keji has no explanation for this logic or double standards. He, however, noted how his mentality has left him incapable of maintaining a romantic relationship with a woman, and why he has remained unmarried.
Lahor—The podcast platforming societal backwardness as “raw and unapologetic”
The Lahor Talk Podcast, which hosted Keji, describes itself as “real, raw, and unapologetic,” the kind of platform that brings on the brightest minds. However, Keji Giwa’s argument is neither bold nor intelligent. It is logically fallacious and borrows the ideology of colonisation and slavery. It is also unethical, as it is not grounded in mutual respect for human and societal progress.
Keji says, “I am not a feminist as women and men are not the same.” And once again he misses the mark. Feminism is not the claim that men and women are identical. It is the truth that women are equally human and so deserving of all human rights, dignity, and respect.
