Young people drawn from the 28 local government areas and local council development areas of Lagos West Senatorial District have given a strong endorsement to Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule (Ph.D) for her re-election bid.

The endorsement came at the Adebule Youth Ambassadors Assembly 2.0, held over the weekend and themed “The Next Chapter: Empowering Youths, Amplifying Quality Representation.” Senator Idiat, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and one of the few women in Nigeria’s Senate, used the platform to engage directly with the youths, reflect on her legislative work, and reaffirm her commitment to greater youth participation and inclusion.

In a statement shared after the gathering, Idiat said she was “delighted to engage with young people from across Lagos West Senatorial District and, more importantly, to receive their strong endorsement through the Adebule Youth Ambassadors.”

She described the assembly as a valuable space to review her interventions and Senate efforts, while placing particular emphasis on listening to the aspirations, concerns, and expectations of the young people present.

“Their aspirations, concerns and expectations remain central to the kind of representation I believe in,” she stated. “I reaffirmed my commitment to creating more opportunities for youth participation, empowerment and inclusion, while ensuring that the interests of Lagos West continue to receive strong and effective representation at the National Assembly.”

The highlight of the event, according to the senator, was the ambassadors’ pledge to deploy their grassroots structures in support of her re-election and those of other candidates of her party. Idiat  expressed gratitude for the confidence shown in her, noting that it carries “an even greater responsibility to continue delivering purposeful, responsive and impactful representation.”

She framed the next chapter as one focused on doing more, reaching more people, and ensuring young people become “active partners in shaping the future we all desire.”
