Award-winning Nigerian filmmaker, producer, and director Bolanle Austen Peters has been shortlisted to receive the Chieftaincy title of Erelu Asa of Iru Kingdom. The title conferment will occur on June 14, 2025, at the Palace of Aafin Oba Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 55-year-old filmmaker is among seven distinguished personalities who will be conferred traditional titles by the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, Abdulwasiu Gbolahan Lawal. The chieftaincy titles are in celebration of the incumbent monarch’s fifth anniversary.
Bolanle Austen-Peters who is the artistic director of BAP Production and the arts and cultural centre Terra Kulture in Lagos, is well-known for her epic movies, such as Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, House of Ga’ a, and the Bling Lagosians.
