Ayotomide Labinjo, the mother of Anuoluwapo Michelle Adeleke, has refuted and challenged billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke’s statement over the renewed paternity controversy of her daughter. She stated that she will not be intimidated or threatened, and insisted that Davido address her directly. She posted her response on Instagram on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Anuoluwapo is the 12-year-old alleged daughter of superstar Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke. According to the mother, she met the singer at GQclub in Ibadan in February 2013, where she worked as a waitress. She noted that Davido was just an up-and-coming artist at the time and was in town for a show. She alleged that they had a brief sexual encounter following an after-party, which resulted in her pregnancy.
Anu’s paternity issue first surfaced online in 2017, when Ayo claimed that the then-three-year-old Anu was fathered by Davido. The Adeleke family and Ayotomide Labinjo agreed that the first DNA test was conducted in 2014. While the Adelekes said the tests took place at two reputable hospitals, Ayo insisted it happened once at a clinic, where she witnessed Davido bribe the doctor assigned to conduct the DNA test, resulting in the falsification of the result. The dispute resurfaced in 2018 when she appealed for another DNA test.
The paternity dispute resurfaced again on January 15, 2026, when Anu, now a teenager, appealed to Davido on her official Instagram page to conduct a new DNA test. She cited bullying, emotional distress, and the desire to establish her identity. In response, Davido stated that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted, all of which came back negative.
The press statement of Dr Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, argued that five DNA tests were conducted between 2015 and 2020 at multiple facilities, and all of them showed a 0.00% probability of paternity. He emphasised that Davido will not take responsibility for a child that is not his.
Responding to his statement, Ms Ayotomide states: “Dr Deji Adeleke: You cannot intimidate us, sir. As the patriarch of the family, you should not be talking on David’s behalf. I’m not Sophia negotiating child support, etc. Let David address me,” She also denied the alleged multiple number of tests, insisting that only one DNA test was conducted in 2014 at a small clinic. “Anu and I never met with you in 2020 for four additional DNA tests,” she said.
Responding to allegations made by Mr Adeleke about the involvement of journalist Kemi Olunloyo, Ms Ayotomide wrote, “Yes, Kemi opened this page and took photos online. She handed the page to us in 2019. I am not a social media user and didn’t post for four years,” she explained. She added that both she and her mother independently post about Anu and denied claims that Kemi manages their social media accounts.
“We are not in touch with Dr Kemi even though she posts about us,” she said. She also issued a warning, stating, “If anything happens to me, my daughter and my mum, the police should hold you responsible,” she stated.
