The Dream Catchers Dance Academy have reached the semi-final stage of the ongoing “France’ Got Talent” show in France.
The team, a group of six girls, stunned audiences with a powerful and energetic performance advocating for women’s liberation in Nigeria. Their radiant energy, passion, and precision set the stage on fire and delivered a bold message of resilience and empowerment. The performance, available on YouTube, has left viewers around the world in awe.
In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on December 19, 2024, Seyi Oluyole, founder of Dream Catchers Academy, celebrated the milestone.
“I will forever be grateful to have been a part of history on the France Got Talent season 19!” the founder said.
Seyi, who grew up in Mile 2 and Ebute Slum in Lagos, Nigeria, reflected on her journey from being a young girl discouraged from pursuing dance to becoming an international inspiration.
“This little girl from Mile 2 and Ebute Slum? The girl who was told to abandon her dance dream as a teenager because too many people said, ‘You can’t do it as a lady.’ Surely God’s goodness is running after me,” she wrote.
Dream Catchers Academy, described as the “First Free Formal Arts Academy in Nigeria,” provides indigent girls free education, arts training, housing, food, and welfare. The academy’s mission is to transform lives, and its journey to “France’s Got Talent” exemplifies its impact.
“Children who could have never imagined being at an airport—God is using me to put them into aeroplanes, having the full experience, travelling to France to compete,” she remarked.
