Again, Nigerian celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci, has broken another World Record. The Guinness World Record has officially announced and recognised her as the new record holder of the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
Recall that Chef Hilda cooked the world’s largest pot of jollof rice on Sept. 12, 2025, attracting thousands of speculators, including celebrities, influencers, and food lovers. Chef Hilda rose to fame in 2023 when she cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes in her record-breaking cooking marathon.
Guinness World Records announced her new feat via their X (formerly Twitter), on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025. The organisation tweeted,
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19, 356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
Earlier last week, the organisation sent Chef Hilda an encouraging message when she attempted the cooking on Friday, September 12, 2025. “What’s cooking? Best of luck to @hildabacicooks, who’s attempting a new record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice today.”
With her new recognition, Chef Hilda has once again placed Nigerian cuisine on the global stage and cemented her name as one of the country’s icons and a globally celebrated chef.
