Summary: Esosa Eguakin, 31, of Coventry, was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Guildford Crown Court after sexually assaulting two women on separate early morning train services travelling from Hampshire to London.

Esosa Eguakin, a 31-year-old Nigerian man, has been jailed for two years following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation for sexually assaulting two women on London-bound trains.

Esosa pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and was sentenced on Tuesday, February 10, at Guildford Crown Court. The British Transport Police, in a statement on Monday, February 23, 2026, confirmed that, beyond his prison sentence, the court handed him a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to prohibit him from sitting or standing next to or directly opposite lone women.

The incident began on August 21, 2025, when Esosa boarded a Fratton to London Waterloo service shortly after 7.15 am. He intentionally sat behind a woman in her 30s and sexually assaulted her during the journey.

The second incident took place on October 6, 2025, shortly after 6 am, on a service from Eastleigh to London Waterloo. Esosa sexually assaulted another woman on that train. When she confronted him, he claimed he was trying to retrieve his phone that he had dropped. He refused to move away from her, and an off-duty police officer intervened to escort him off the train at Woking. The officer detained Esosa at the station until responding officers arrived and took him into custody.

Detective Constable David Stewart stated Esosa’s conduct was predatory and deeply distressing for both victims and thanked the two women for their courage in supporting the investigation, as well as the off-duty officer whose swift intervention prevented further harm.
