Following her win at the 2025 Grammys that held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian Afrobeats star Temilade Openiyin, popularly known as Tems.

In a post on his official page on X (formerly Twitter), he stated that he was proud of her and her accomplishments. “Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love me jeje”. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!,” the post read

With her hit song “Love me Jeje” winning her a second Grammy, Tems is now the first Nigerian artist to win the Best African Music Performance at the Grammys, the first Nigerian female artist to win the Best African Music Performance at the Grammys, the most-awarded Nigerian-based artist in the history of the Grammys, as well as the first female Nigerian artist to hold two times Grammy awards.
