Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to diversifying its economy beyond oil at the Ogun State Investment Summit, held on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit.

The summit aims to attract foreign direct investment into Ogun State by showcasing the state’s potential beyond oil sector growth. Dr Jumoke engaged with the Brazilian business community to invest in Ogun’s agribusiness, renewable energy, aviation, and technology.

Prince Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State; Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; and Aisha Rimi, CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, were also present at the high-level engagement.

Dr Jumoke emphasised the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment’s (FMITI) ongoing work to build investor confidence and friendly policies.

“FMITI remains committed to investor confidence through clear policy, strong partnerships & non-oil growth,” she said.
