Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed three distinguished women—Aderinsola Olanrewaju, Ajibike Onigbanjo, and Abiola Idowu—as a part of the new eight Permanent Secretaries on Mar. 20, 2025, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to gender inclusion and excellence in governance.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who officially swore in the eight new appointees at Lagos House, Ikeja, urged them to uphold professionalism, accountability, and good governance in line with the THEMES+ agenda.
Aderinsola Olanrewaju, the new Permanent Secretary of the Citizens Mediation Bureau, brings over 30 years of legal experience. A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, she has held key positions in the Lagos State Civil Service since 1999. Her expertise spans commercial law, litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and legislative drafting.
Ajibike Onigbanjo who is to lead the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, also started her career in the private sector before joining the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation where she served as Deputy General Manager of the Property and Land Management Department. With academic credentials from Lagos State University and the National Open University, she is a seasoned administrator and a fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria.
Abiola Idowu will oversee the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), a crucial agency in Lagos State’s healthcare sector. She is tasked with ensuring the efficiency and quality of medical facilities across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu further emphasised that these appointments reflect his administration’s commitment to an efficient civil service. “These appointments are not just about filling positions; they represent our collective commitment to enhancing governance and service delivery in Lagos State,” he said.
