Saudat Jibril, an 18-year-old, has been accused of murdering her 30-year-old husband, Salisu Idris. The incident was reported to have occurred on May 6, 2025, after she allegedly slited his throat.
According to Abdullahi Kiyawa, the State’s Police Spokesperson, the incident occurred in Farawa Quarters, Kano at about 12:35 a.m. Ibrahim Bakori, the Commissioner of Police, organised a team of detectives to the scene. Salisu Idris was confirmed dead by medical personnel at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The police stated his teenage wife had been apprehended as a suspect in the incident and is currently in custody at the State’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section. She would be charged in court for culpable homicide.
