According to distributor FilmOne Entertainment, Behind The Scenes not only crossed the N200 million threshold but also broke five opening weekend records and achieved the largest weekend admissions of 2025, with 34,548 tickets sold.

Omotara Lawrence, a UK-based Nigerian content creator and businesswoman, has spoken out after her husband, Alabi Lawrence, petitioned the police, leading to the arrest of an X user accused of cyberstalking and defaming her online. Omotara said years of harassment over a past mistake caused significant psychological harm, stressing that accountability for online abuse should not be mistaken for oppression.

Renowned Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist, Folorunso Alakija, has completed and donated a N34 billion ultra-modern medical research and training hospital to Osun State University (UNIOSUN). 

The facility, named the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Medical Research and Training Hospital, was officially commissioned on December 16, 2025, by former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo at a ceremony attended by government officials, university authorities, medical professionals, and other key stakeholders. The donation is one of the most significant private investments in healthcare and medical education in Nigeria’s history.

  1. Nigerian Stylist Helen Williams Breaks GWR with Tallest Wig Ever Made

A Nigerian artisan has garnered global attention with a new world record in the art of wig making. On 27 September 2025, professional wig maker Helen Williams set the Guinness World Record for the tallest wig with a remarkable creation that stands 15.37 metres (50.42 feet) tall. 

This is not the first time Helen has broken a record. She is already a celebrated record breaker in the world of hair artistry, holding previous Guinness World Records for the longest handmade wig, which measured an astonishing 351.28 metres (1,152 ft 5 in), and for the widest wig, spanning 3.65 metres (11 ft 11 in). 

  1. Laura Ikeji Calls out Business Owners Exploiting Detty December 

Laura Ikeji Kanu, a Nigerian entrepreneur and influencer, has criticised rising service costs of the Detty December festive season, saying Nigerians are greedy and exploiting visitors from abroad, in a video shared on her Instagram page on Dec 16, 2025.

In the video, Laura expressed frustration over hair-braiding prices, revealing that a hairstyle she previously charged ₦70,000 for was now quoted at ₦200,000, with suggestions to charge clients as much as ₦250,000 because it was Detty December. She said such pricing unfairly targets Nigerians in the diaspora, who she noted are often assumed to be extremely wealthy.
