MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the appointment of Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2026. She succeeds John Ugbe, who is retiring after nearly 15 years at the helm of the pay-TV company.
Kemi brings over two decades of leadership experience across media, telecommunications, and digital services in Nigeria and the Sub-Saharan Africa region. She has held several senior positions within the MultiChoice Group, including Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria and Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for the Rest of Africa.
Most recently, she served as Regional Director for Southern Africa, overseeing operations across seven countries with full profit-and-loss responsibility. Commenting on her appointment, Kemi Omotosho said it was a privilege to lead MultiChoice Nigeria and that she looked forward to working with teams and partners to strengthen consumer relationships, support local storytelling, and build a future-ready organisation.
In her new role, Kemi will oversee MultiChoice Nigeria’s strategy, daily operations, and engagement with regulators, partners, and stakeholders, building on the foundations laid by her predecessor. The handover between John Ugbe and Kemi Omotosho will happen smoothly before January to ensure a smooth transition and continued operational stability in the Nigerian market.
