Angela Okorie Apologises to Mercy Johnson, Says Third Parties Fuelled Their Feud

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologised to Mercy Johnson-Okojie by retracting all damaging accusations she made against her. Angela made the apology in a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, one day after her release from Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.
“I just want to apologise to you. If it’s just my words, if it’s the words I have written anytime your name pops out on social media, I am deeply sorry. You are not a witch. You are not what people are calling you. This is just to say I am sorry,” she stated in the video.
The actress was arrested on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre at her Lagos residence for allegedly cyberbullying Mercy Johnson. She was remanded in Suleja Prison by an Abuja court on Wednesday, January 29, 2026.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja granted her bail in the sum of N5 million with one surety in like sum. She perfected the bail on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
In her apology, the repentant actress expressed concern about the impact of their public feud on Mercy Johnson’s children. She explained that misunderstandings between them were fueled by third parties who spread gossip.
“While we were growing in the industry, some people would come and tell me that Mercy said, some people would tell me that Angela said. At this age, I don’t think this is what I want,” she said.
She stated that she is making peace with everyone and promised to handle future issues directly, revealing that she and Mercy Johnson have spoken on the phone.
The feud between the two actresses escalated in May 2025 when Mercy posted a video on TikTok showing her weight loss. Angela dropped a comment accusing Johnson of no longer having blood to suck, calling her a bloodsucker. She later went live on Instagram, claiming Mercy was ill because she was evil and stated she had forgiven Johnson for the alleged evil things done to her.
However, Mercy Johnson later revealed that her children were being bullied at school because of narratives circulating online accusing her of being evil and a witch. As of the time of press, Mercy Johnson has not reacted to Angela’s apology.
