Naija Feminists Media is a leading media organisation working at the intersection of journalism and women’s rights. NFM produce knowledge products–Feminist News, Free Women’s (FM) Vodcast, Women’s Art, and NFM Films–that demystify Nigeria’s misogynistic and patriarchal culture, rework the stereotype that gender equality is un-African and unnecessary, and highlight Nigerian women’s perspectives on global gender issues.
About the role
NFM Seek an accountant officer to join its team and contribute to preparing the budget, record keeping, managing finances and setting up relevant financial systems. As an account officer, you will help ensure NFM is financially responsible.
Job description
- Engage in budget preparations and expense montioring
- Perform accounts reconciliations, financial statements and reports for review, as required
- Ensure NFM compliance with taxes, levies, payments, and the relevant required documents
- Support related financial activities, including preparing payroll and ensuring tax compliance.
- Coordinate bank activities
Key requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems such as Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
- Passion for gender equality
