Hon. Ummul-Kalthum Olajumoke Yusuf has been elected as Councillor for City Centre Ward in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
She was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded area council elections held in Abuja on February 21, 2026. The APC emerged as the dominant party in the polls, winning five of the six available chairmanship seats across the FCT.
Hon. Olajumoke is described as a dedicated advocate for grassroots development, community service and inclusive governance. Her victory shows the growing influence of young leaders in local government, especially women who are breaking barriers in politics.
As she prepares to assume office, she has pledged to serve the people of City Centre Ward with focus, compassion and a strong sense of responsibility. Residents and stakeholders across the FCT have been encouraged to support her administration as she works to address local priorities and strengthen community development.
The Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) also congratulated Hon. Yusuf on her victory, describing her election as a significant milestone for young women in politics and community leadership.
