Summary: A Redeemed Christian Church of God youth pastor, Bola Abiodun, placed curses and issued threats against a feminist social media user for addressing him as “Mr” during an online exchange about feminism.

A Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) youth pastor at Christ the Rock Parish, Bola Abiodun, has placed curses and issued death threats against a feminist on X for addressing him as “rr” during an online exchange.

The incident began on Monday, 23 February, after pastor Bola took to X to criticise feminism. In his post, he stated that feminism complicates everyday interactions and strips people of what he described as simplicity.

“I think the downside of feminism is that it robs you of the experience of embracing the simplicity of life,” he wrote. “You begin to read too much meaning into every little detail and nuance of intersexual dynamics, even what you’re meant to poke fun at.”

X user and feminist Mama Abi-girl challenged his position. She stated that behaviours often dismissed as jokes, such as unwanted physical contact, can be harmful and constitute sexual assault. Drawing from personal experience, she explained that repeated violations forced her to suppress natural reactions to protect herself.

“Mr Abiodun, please teach your boys to keep their hands to themselves. It’s indeed a sexual assault,” she said.

Rather than engaging her argument, Bola shifted focus to how she addressed him, expressing anger over being called “Mr” instead of “Dr.”

He warned her not to use the title again and asserted his status. “I’m a ‘Dr’, not a ‘Mr’. Don’t refer to me as MR again. I’m not your mate,” he wrote. “If you call me Mr one more time, you won’t like what will happen to you. Do you know who I am?”

As the exchange continued, Bola escalated his response by invoking religious authority and issuing threats. He described himself as dangerous and warned Mama Abi-girl to tread lightly.

“Do you know I’m a dangerous man? My tongue carries fire by virtue of the power God bestowed on me,” he wrote. “If I do what’s on my mind to you, even if you beg me, I won’t hear.”

Bola later publicly placed a curse on Mama Abi-girl, threatening her life and giving a specific time and date. He claimed spiritual backing for his actions and warned others not to intervene.

“I, Pastor Dr Bola Abiodun, hereby pronounce a curse on you,” he wrote. “If you don’t retract and apologise. You shall pass on to glory in your sleep at 11 pm on 23rd Feb, ’26.”

Bola insisted he had placed a curse and maintained that Tomisin had disrespected him. On Tuesday, February 24, Mama Abi-girl responded with a video message rejecting his threats. Addressing him directly, she said, “Mr Bola Abiodun! You are nothing!”
