Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has been honoured with the Distinguished Diplomatic Service and International Leadership Award in recognition of her contributions to the country’s international engagement and global representation.
The award was presented during De Pinnacle International Social Club’s 10th anniversary celebration, held on October 4, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. The event, themed “A Decade of Excellence, Legacy and Impact,” brought together business leaders, politicians, professionals, philanthropists and community figures, many with strong ties to southeastern Nigeria.
In a post on her official X account on October 12, Bianca expressed gratitude for the recognition. She described the night as one “dedicated to giving, to creating collective impact through charitable causes and humanitarian programs and support for vulnerable families as well as community development.” A video accompanying the post captured scenes from the gala, including arrivals, performances, networking and formal proceedings.
De Pinnacle International, founded a decade earlier as a social club emphasizing brotherhood, mutual support, philanthropy, integrity and leadership, used the anniversary to highlight its community interventions. These have included youth empowerment, healthcare support, scholarships and other humanitarian efforts. The club’s president, Chief David Nwosu (Nwannedinamba), and Board of Trustees chairman, Chief (Dr.) Chris Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu), led the organisation of the celebration.
Keynote remarks were delivered by Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman and CEO of United Nigeria Airlines. The programme also featured speeches, testimonials, charitable initiatives and entertainment, including a performance by Nigerian singer Flavour and other artists.
Bianca, a lawyer, former beauty pageant titleholder and career diplomat, previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain and as Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs. She was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs before assuming the full portfolio of Minister of Foreign Affairs earlier in 2026 under President Bola Tinubu. Her diplomatic experience has focused on strengthening Nigeria’s international relations, tourism diplomacy and diaspora engagement.
The recognition underscores both her official role in advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy priorities and the social club’s emphasis on pairing elite networking with tangible community impact.
