Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori popularly known as Kiki, Bisola Aiyeola, and Iyabo Ojo have secured nominations at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, as the awards spotlight top performances and standout film projects across major categories. The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is a premier annual event presented by MultiChoice, honouring outstanding achievements in African film and television.

Nigerian actress and comedian Etinosa Idemudia has called attention to the discriminatory practice of barring women from entering clubs, lounges, and hotels without the presence of a male companion. Etinosa made the call on Monday, March 30, 2026, via her Instagram Story.

Addressing feminists directly, Etinosa stated that the restriction of women from public spaces without male accompaniment remained an unaddressed issue.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has been crowned the Best International Act at the 2026 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, securing her second consecutive win in the category. The Mavin Records artiste, also represented by Roc Nation, triumphed over a star-studded international lineup including Cardi B, Gunna, Kehlani, Clipse, Tyla, and Vybz Kartel. 

  1. 21-year-old Anthony Alabi, Rapes, Murders, 58-year-old Veronica Olaseni

Alabi Anthony, a 21-year-old carpenter, has been arrested and remanded in custody for the alleged rape and murder of 58-year-old Veronica Olaseni. The incident occurred on March 2, 2026, on the victim’s farmland in Iboropa community, Akoko North-East Local Government Area, Ondo State.
