Akure Court Remands Twin Brothers Over Rape of 15-Year-Old Girl

Summary: An Akure Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of twin brothers, Eyinloju Taiwo and Eyinloju Kehinde, at the Olokuta Correctional Centre over reports of rape and abduction of a 15-year-old girl.
An Akure Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of twin brothers, Eyinloju Taiwo and Eyinloju Kehinde, at the Olokuta Correctional Centre over reports of rape and abduction. The defendants were arraigned by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, on a four-count charge bordering on rape, abduction and conspiracy.
Prosecuting counsel, O.F. Baba, told the court that the reported offences were committed on March 12, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at Abisi Street, Ikamu Quarters, Oka Akoko, Ondo State. He noted that the defendants had raped a 15-year-old girl, identified as Busayo Bakare and abducted one Juliet Oke to facilitate the offence.
According to the prosecution, the offences contravene Sections 357, 516 and 558 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006, as well as Section 2(iii) of the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law, 2010, punishable under Section 3(ii)(b).
The prosecutor also informed the court that a remand application supported by an affidavit had been filed, seeking the detention of the defendants pending further proceedings. Counsel to the defendants, D.S. Omnidougha, requested leave to file a counter-affidavit in response to the application.
In her ruling, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to April 22, 2026, for hearing of the remand application.
