Dr Nonye Frances Soludo, the Anambra State First Lady, in collaboration with Fidelity Bank Plc, has empowered 2000 beneficiaries, mainly women, with equipment and entrepreneurial support to strengthen their livelihoods and economic independence. This empowerment campaign was executed under the “Fidelity Bank/Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Empowerment Programme” at the Lighthouse Banquet Hall in Awka, on Friday, June 12, 2026.

The Healthy Living initiative is a non-governmental organisation launched in 2022 by Dr Nonye Soludo. It’s a statewide social movement that drives preventive healthcare, holistic wellness, and community self-reliance across Anambra State. The organisation’s campaign focuses on transforming daily habits around six core pillars: nutrition, environmental hygiene, physical fitness, mental health, drug abuse prevention, and maternal/child health.

Speaking with the beneficiaries during the event, Dr Nonye Soludo said the partnership was a part of her Healthy Living initiative, and the programme is a demonstration of the power of partnership and shared responsibility. She emphasised that empowering women and supporting children are essential to building a healthier and more prosperous society.

“Every woman supported, every child empowered, and every family assisted represents a step towards building a stronger, healthier and more prosperous Anambra,” she stated. “This is not merely to distribute items or celebrate another social impact initiative, but to reaffirm a simple truth that when we invest in people, we invest in the future.”

A total of 100 women receive sewing machines, another 100 women receive grinding machines, 250 school children get solar-powered school bags, while 1,500 vulnerable persons receive food bank packs under the initiative.

In addition, the First Lady gifted ₦100,000 to some women to serve as business capital. She also commended Fidelity Bank for supporting the vision of improving the welfare of women, children and vulnerable groups in the state.

“As an NGO, we do not receive government funding for our programmes and interventions. Our work is sustained through goodwill, strategic collaborations and the support of organisations and individuals who share our passion for improving lives,” she added.
