  1. Police Arrest Musbawu Amodu for Suspected Murder of Wife over Food

Musbawu Amodu, a 30-year-old resident of Nasarawa State, has been arrested for the alleged killing of his 20-year-old wife in Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area of the state. This incident occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the Angwan Yahaya community after a domestic altercation between the couple turned violent. 

  1. Court Remands Jediel Sylvester for Raping, Impregnating Daughter

Jediel Sylvester, a resident of Adamawa State, has been arrested and remanded in a correctional facility by an Upper Area Court in Ganye Local Government Area of the state after pleading guilty to repeatedly defiling and impregnating his biological daughter. According to reports, Sylvester routinely beat, threatened, and intimidated the victim into having sexual intercourse with her. This abuse resulted in a three-month pregnancy that was confirmed at a medical facility.

Mary Habilah, a physiotherapist attached to the Federal Ministry of Works, has been found dead at the residence of Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Uburu, Ebonyi State. While the cause and perpetrator of her death remain unknown, the case has drawn widespread public attention, with many Nigerians demanding transparency and accountability as conflicting accounts continue to emerge about the events leading to her death.

The principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Ms Folawe Rachael Alamu, has revealed that pupils abducted alongside teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State were repeatedly beaten by their captors, while male teachers were blindfolded, handcuffed and chained throughout their 56-day captivity.
