Nigerian Olusegun Onidare Charged with Sexual Assault of Woman, Teenage Girl in Canada

On August 31, 2026, Peel Regional Police in Ontario, Canada, arrested and charged Olusegun Onidare, a 33-year-old Nigeria-born man, with two counts of sexual assault and one count of breaching a probation order, after he attacked two ladies in separate incidents in Brampton on the same day. He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The first incident occurred at Bramalea City Centre mall, near Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard in Brampton, where a woman in her 20s was shopping when Onidare allegedly approached and sexually assaulted her. Hours later, a teenage girl under the age of 18 was waiting at a transit terminal near Central Park Drive and Queen Street East when the same man approached her, struck up a conversation, and sexually assaulted her when she attempted to leave. Both victims escaped and immediately reported the incidents to the police.

Peel Regional Police declared Olusegun Onidare wanted and released his image to the public. A member of the public recognised him from the image and contacted police, leading to his arrest. “Investigators arrested Olusegun Onidare, a 33-year-old male of no fixed address. He has been charged with the following offences: Sexual Assault x 2 and Breach of Probation Order,” the police confirmed in a statement.

The breach of probation charge indicates that Olusegun Onidare was already subject to a court-imposed probation order at the time of the alleged assaults, meaning he was under existing legal conditions when the incidents occurred. He is currently held in custody pending a bail hearing.
