“Anybody who has an Unnecessary Pregnancy is just like a Giveaway,” KWAM 1 Reacts to Paternity Claim

He made this remark during a video interview, which resurfaced and went viral alongside a controversial stage performance where he sang about “unplanned pregnancies.”

In a viral interview, Ogechi Eleana, a graduate of Lagos State University accused KWAM 1 of irresponsible fatherhood, stating that he refused to take responsibility for their 12-year-old daughter, Azeezat. According to her, she dated the singer for more than seven years and worked as his manicurist and pedicurist before their relationship developed. When she became pregnant with him, she alleged the Fuji singer told her to terminate it and promised to send money through one of his aides for the abortion. However, the money never arrived. She resolved to keep the pregnancy, and the singer stopped communicating with her.

In the undated clip, the singer, Wasiu Ayinde, bragged about intentionally leaving personal items, such as clothing and footwear, at the homes of women he had stopped dating, particularly those who had borne him children.

“There are a lot of women I am no longer dating. I forget my clothes and shoes in their houses, including any child they have for me. That is the souvenir I leave behind for them to remember me in life,” he said in  Yoruba language.

Following Eleana’s claim, KWAM 1, while performing on stage during the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams, he implied that an unapproved pregnancy from his relationships was essentially a “giveaway” or free gift (saara), telling critics to take their complaints to TikTok and Facebook.

“On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook. Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway. These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok,” he sang to the audience.
