Bauchi State First Lady Aisha Mohammed has unveiled an empowerment package worth over N80 million to support women across the state, alongside the distribution of bags of cassava aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening household incomes. The initiative was announced on August 16, 2026, through a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the First Lady, Zainab Garba.
The statement disclosed that the empowerment package is designed to help women strengthen their businesses, improve household income, and become more economically self-reliant. Garba stated that the intervention reflects the First Lady’s continued focus on initiatives that promote women’s welfare, dignity, and economic independence at the grassroots level.
Aisha Mohammed is the First Lady of Bauchi State and founder of the Almuhibba Foundation, through which she has led multiple women-centred interventions across Bauchi State, including maternal health outreaches, girls’ education advocacy, gender-based violence prevention, and economic empowerment programmes. She has consistently emphasised that healthy, educated, protected, and economically empowered women remain the foundation of sustainable community development.
At the distribution event, the All Progressives Movement governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu, also donated N5 million to women from all 20 local government areas of Bauchi State to assist with transportation and facilitate their return to their respective communities.
Zainab stated that both interventions underscored the importance of supporting women as key contributors to families, communities, and the overall development of Bauchi State.
