In defence of women's body autonomy, BBN's former housemate, Uriel Oputa, called out Nigerians who criticised and judged female celebrities over their motherhood choices. She described the constant online debate about women's reproductive health and decisions as unbecoming.
Former BBN housemate and health advocate, Uriel Oputa, slammed online critics who judged and criticised female celebrities over their motherhood choices and decisions. She expressed her displeasure through her Instagram page on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
She lamented that people feel entitled to analyse women’s reproductive health and turned it into a trending debate topic on social media. She questioned why women are often criticised for their life choices instead of being celebrated.
She further expressed her support for Toke Makinde, Tiwa Savage, and Hilda Baci, who constantly face public scrutiny. She called on the people to remember that the female celebrities they are critiquing are human beings with emotions and personal struggles.
“Ask yourself why you’re not progressing. It’s your heart. Keep talking. Please, life has a funny way of showing you pepper. I will continue to defend Toke or whoever I wish,” she said.
This is not the first time Uriel has publicly spoken against online body-shaming and criticism of women. Her stance reflects the broader issue where female public figures are criticised for their personal choices.
