Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu Takes Nigeria’s Diaspora Story to the World Stage at UNGA 81

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, represented the nation at a Town Hall meeting with the Nigerian Diaspora Community in the United States, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at Nigeria House, New York.
The event, organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), drew a large turnout of Nigerians living and thriving abroad including professionals, students and business owners.
Speaking with the community, Odumegwu-Ojukwu conveyed the assurance of the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that the country would continue to leverage the intellect of its diaspora describing it as “the greatest resource of the future.”
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is not just attending global meetings, she is occupying Nigeria’s foreign policy frontline as a woman, carrying the voices of millions of Nigerians abroad into the rooms where decisions are made.
In a space where women’s representation in diplomacy remains painfully low, her presence at UNGA, engaging the diaspora, projecting unity, and positioning Nigerians abroad as national assets is proof of what women are capable of.
