Phyna, former BBN star, has debunked Dangote's claims of paying Ruth's hospital bills and plans to fly her to India for treatment. She warned the conglomerate to retract its statement and stop using false narratives to score goodwill through someone's pain.

Former BBN star, Phyna Otabor has debunked Dangote’s claim that it paid for Ruth’s hospital bills and plans to fly her to India for treatment. She clarified this, through an official statement posted on her Instagram page.

Recall that Phyna younger sister, Ruth Otabor had a severe incident involving a Dangote’s truck, near Auchi Polytechnic. She passed away on August 31, 2025, after weeks of pain.

Clarifying the air about Dangote’s claim of paying for Ruth’s hospital bills and plan to fly her to India, Phyna said the statement is false and misleading. She explained that the only financial contribution Dangote made was the Lagoon Hospital bills payment.

She emphasised that there was never a plan to fly Ruth to India and Dangote did not take responsibility for her continued care. She challenged the conglomerate to provide proof of their claim and warned them to stop using “false narrative to push to score goodwill off someone’s pain”.

“If the falsehood is not corrected, I will take further steps to protect Ruth’s dignity and ensure accountability. I will not allow Ruth’s condition to be used for image laundering,” part of the statement reads.
