Summary: Omotayo Sanusi, the owner of Iyan Aladuke restaurant and the former wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, accused him of deploying 20 armed men to evict her from the restaurant.
Omotayo Sanusi, popularly known as Iyan Aladuke, the owner of Iyan Aladuke restaurant and former wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, accused him of deploying 20 armed men to forcibly evict her from her restaurant in Yaba, Lagos.
On January 23, 2026, a viral video showed armed police officers escorting individuals from the Iyan Aladuke restaurant in Yaba. Subsequently, Omotayo announced the temporary closure of her restaurant on Saturday, January 24, 2026, due to circumstances beyond her control.
Omotayo married Femi on October 9, 2016, and they had a son. The rumours of their separation first surfaced in late 2024 and mid-2025 when Omotayo deleted the actor’s photos from her social media. However, their separation became official in late 2025.
Following the comments made by one of Femi’s family members, Taiwo Abdulmalik, who defended him after social media backlash. Iyan Aladuke breaks silence and calls the narrative false. She questioned the deployment of 20 armed officers for the eviction and said the incident was a failed attempt to disgrace her.
“What did you expect when you took almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people?” she said. “My aged mother was thrown out with a gun, knowing fully well she’ll be there as she comes around to help me with my child! Who are you to talk to me about God? You don’t know God! You only put up the act.”
She further accused the actor of being absent from their child’s life for a year, until a recent visit to the boy’s school, which she viewed as a staged photo opportunity.
“You took a picture to garnish our image and watched us thrown on the street from my marital home on Friday and now published the visit in Punch. I knew what was coming the moment I was told of your impromptu visit and picture play,” she said.
She also accused the actor of being more concerned about protecting his image than the impact on others. She maintained that she would no longer remain silent.
“You always want to silence me by targeting my reputation. I’m done keeping quiet! You can’t silence me anymore! The desperation to save your name, you don’t care who goes down! I’m not going down with your lies! Whoever published those false narratives in Punch Newspapers should retract them,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
