Summary

Nollywood production manager Anierobi Courage, also known as Nwa South, has been arrested for assaulting Mary Eze, the Head of the Make-up Department. The incident happened on October 28, 2025, during the filming of Lagos to Opulence in Lagos.

A Nollywood production manager and casting director, Anierobi Courage, popularly known as Nwa South, has been arrested for assaulting Mary Eze, the head of makeup artists, on a film set in Lagos State.

On October 29, 2025, Stanley Ontop, a Nigerian filmmaker, posted a video on his Instagram page where Courage attacked Mary during filming on October 28, 2025, in Lagos.

The video from the set shows the two engaged in a physical fight as other set members tried to stop Courage from assaulting Mary.

Seconds into the video, Courage pushes Mary onto a sofa, beating her, suffocating her and saying, “I will suffocate you”.

The Nigeria Film Crew Committee (NFCC) released a statement stating that the assault occurred on October 28, 2025, during the filming of “Lagos to Opulence” by Caddilly Productions.

The assault took place after Mary protested the inhumane accommodation conditions provided by the production, which housed 15 crew members in a single room.

The statement explained that Courage hit and strangled Mary for speaking out against the ill-treatment.

The community added that following the incident, Courage was arrested while Mary received medical attention.

While condemning Courage, NFCC urged the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), the Active Movie Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria (AMPMAN), the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN), and other film producers to take strict disciplinary action against Courage.

“While investigations are ongoing with the Nigerian Police Force, we strongly advise industry producers and production companies to suspend any form of engagement with ‘Nwa South’ for a period of six months (6 months),” the bodies said.
