Summary

Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, urged Nigerians to hold their grassroots political leaders accountable rather than solely blaming the President. She emphasised that the leaders grossly mismanage public funds.

Reality star and media personality Natasha Akide, known as Tacha, called on Nigerians to hold their state governors, senators, and local government chairpersons accountable for good governance rather than solely blaming the President.

In her shared viral video, Tacha cited the disbursement of N2.2 trillion by the Federal Account Allocation Committee to the federal, state, and local governments. She pinpointed that money is available, but it is grossly mismanaged. She highlighted that the local government received up to N44 billion but failed to deliver on its responsibilities because it knew Nigerians would solely blame the President.

She opined that rather than direct their frustrations at President Tinubu, the people should instead hold their grassroots elected leaders accountable. She argued that underperforming leaders escape scrutiny while public outrage is misdirected to a single individual.

“Hold them by their necks, let them deliver. If you start dragging these people individually, we will see that Nigeria will change. Drag everybody in leadership positions instead of focusing on one single person,” she concluded.
