Summary: Ms Lami, the mother of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has denied that her daughter uses drugs or introduced harmful substances to her younger brothers, calling the allegations made by Ilebaye’s father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya Godson, false.

Ms Lami, the mother of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has denied allegations made by Ilebaye’s father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya Godson, that their daughter is a drug user who introduced harmful substances to her younger brothers.

Speaking in a chat with Linda Ikeji’s Blog, Ms Lami stated that her ex-husband fabricated the drug allegations to play the victim and deflect public attention from videos showing Ilebaye with a battered face following the physical altercation at his residence.

“Ilebaye is not on drugs, and she did not introduce her brothers to drugs. Because he assaulted the child, he came out to play the victim game for people to see the child as a bad child,” she stated.

Recall that on May 9, 2026, during a livestream, Ilebaye was seen visibly distressed, crying, and repeatedly pleading for help while showing noticeable swelling on her face. Subsequently, the FCT Police Command rescued her from the physical attack caused by her father, Emmanuel Odiniya. She was then rushed to NNPC Hospital, Abuja, where she received medical attention while Emmanuel was arrested.

Ms Lami stated that her husband has a pattern of abuse leading to her abandoning the marriage.

“My not being in the house is because of the emotional abuse from the father, always. We have been abused constantly in that house. Ilebaye is going through a lot, emotional abuse from the father,” she stated.

Describing her own distress at Emmanuel’s public statements, Ms Lami stated,

“Yesterday, I was very traumatised. For a father to come out to lie against his child is so traumatising.” She stated that she remained determined to support Ilebaye through the ordeal. “Whatever he came out to say, let God be the judge, since he has come out to destroy his daughter’s image in public.”
