Summary: Filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has issued a public cease-and-desist warning to convicted sexual offender Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha. She issued the warning on Sunday, March 23, 2026, after Baba Ijesha named her children in a Talk to B podcast interview.
Actress and filmmaker, Iyabo Ojo, has issued a public cease-and-desist warning to convicted sexual offender Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha. The actress issued the warning on Sunday, March 23, 2026, after Baba Ijesha named her children in a Talk to B podcast interview.
Recall that the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) refuted claims in November 2025 that Baba Ijesha had been cleared of his conviction. The agency confirmed that an Ikeja Special Offences Court convicted him on July 14, 2022, for the sexual assault and indecent treatment of a 14-year-old child, sentenced him to five years in prison, and recorded his name on the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register.
The cease-and-desist came one day after Baba Ijesha appeared on the Talk to B podcast on Saturday, March 22, 2026, where he denied his conviction, attacked the character of comedian Oluwadamilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, and claimed Iyabo Ojo once left her children, Priscilla and Festus, in his care.
Responding via Instagram story on March 23, 2026, Iyabo Ojo rejected his account directly. She stated that her children were never unsupervised, always in the care of nannies or her late mother.
She further noted that her former Ilupeju business premises operated a full staff of stylists, sales representatives, and apprentices, making it unnecessary for her to leave her children in a colleague’s care. “I’m okay with you sharing your story, but don’t mislead the public with false claims about my kids,” the actress stated
Reiterating her condemnation of Baba Ijesha’s actions, she said.
“You were a senior colleague, no more to it. However, that 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse.”
Iyabo Ojo further warned that continued use of her children’s names in his attempt to whitewash his image would result in legal action.
