The First Lady of Katsina State, Her Excellency Hajiya Zulaihat Abdullahi Dikko, is supporting an empowerment initiative to train 2,000 youths, women, and persons with disabilities across the state.

The free training programme is organised by 9jaFoodFiesta in collaboration with the Katsina State Government to tackle unemployment, promote inclusion, and build entrepreneurial skills. Set to begin on June 19, 2025, the programme will provide participants with hands-on training in agriculture, culinary arts, fashion, and information and communication technology (ICT) — skills that are essential for self-reliance and economic empowerment in today’s Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Hajiya Hadiza Yar’adua, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs in Katsina State and event host, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uplifting marginalised groups and expanding access to livelihood opportunities.

“This is more than a training,”  Hajiya Hadiza said. “It’s a pathway to independence, inclusion, and lasting impact.”
