Nigerian dancer Korra Obidi has officially become a U.S. citizen, sharing her joy on Instagram and receiving an outpouring of support from fans.
Popular Nigerian dancer, singer-songwriter, and model Korra Obidi has officially become a citizen of the United States, marking a significant milestone in her personal and professional journey.
The entertainer took to Instagram to share the news, proudly announcing her new status as an American citizen. She was among a group of immigrants who participated in a naturalisation ceremony, a moment she described as a testament to her journey of growth and perseverance.
In a heartfelt post, Korra wrote, “Small Girl, Big God,” capturing her excitement. She also shared a video from the ceremony, beaming joyfully while holding her citizenship certificate.
In March 2022, Korra Obidi’s marriage to Justin Dean ended publicly just two days after the birth of their daughter. She was soon evicted and sought emergency shelter with her kids. Korra later accused Dean of neglecting child support, stealing $5,000 from their joint account, and demanding spousal support. She also revealed that she was paying half of her bride’s price and a $50,000 divorce settlement.
Following the public divorce, Korra suffered several attempts to be evicted from the US, public harm attempts, and several takedowns of her social media platform. Consequently, her announcement of being a US citizen met with congratulatory messages from fans, families, colleagues, and well-wishers. Many applauded her resilience and determination to build a successful career in the United States.
A Trudyziva said, “After all the problems of the last few years, you deserve it, queen.”
Expressing gratitude for the support, Korra thanked her well-wishers and reaffirmed her commitment to embracing every opportunity life offers.
