The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has deepened its grassroots campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) with the second edition of its Turn Motor Parks Purple initiative at Biode Park, Ojota.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has expanded its grassroots advocacy campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) with the second edition of its flagship initiative, Turn Motor Parks Purple.
The sensitisation programme, held at Biode Park in Ojota on September 11, 2025, united commuters, transport workers, and community members against all forms of abuse.
The initiative forms part of activities marking Lagos State’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month and reaffirms the government’s zero-tolerance stance on SGBV.
A key feature of the outreach was the collaboration with TelMD Nigeria, which provided participants with free medical consultations and health screenings.
Partners, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Lagos Chapter, the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), and the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA), also supported the campaign.
Executives and members pledged to sustain efforts in raising awareness and protecting community members.
DSVA officials also educated attendees on the agency’s free services, including Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), psychosocial support, empowerment programs, social welfare, medical aid, and legal aid.
