Nigeria’s D’Tigress centre star, Lauren Ebo, has signed a contract with Spanish club Joventut Badalona that runs through June 2026.
Club Joventut Badalona, also known as La Penya, is a professional basketball club based in Badalona, Catalonia, Spain. They compete in the Liga ACB and the EuroCup.
Lauren Ebo played collegiate basketball in the U.S. with Penn State, Texas, and Notre Dame before moving to Europe, where she most recently featured for KS Basket in Poland. She delivered a standout season there, averaging 15.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, and a 19 efficiency rating, including a game-high 21 rebounds.
The Nigerian-American basketball standout began her basketball journey at Paul VI Catholic High School before transferring to Riverdale Baptist School, where she led her team to the Independent School National Championship. She launched her NCAA career at Penn State (2018–2020), averaging over five points and rebounds per game. She then transferred to the University of Texas (2020–2022), earning All-Big 12 Honourable Mention and leading the team in double-doubles.
Lauren is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising basketball talents, part of a new generation of D’Tigress players alongside Amy Okonkwo, Murjanatu Musa, Nicole Enabosi, and Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpannah. With this signing, Joventut Badalona secures a proven interior presence with NCAA and international experience.
