Summary: The family of Deborah Moses has rejected a reported plea bargain offer from her ex-boyfriend, Lintex Ogale, after he was charged with her murder. He proposed ₦20 million compensation and a seven-year sentence, but the family insisted on full justice as the case continues at the Ikeja High Court.
The family of Deborah Moses, the interior designer reportedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, Lintex Ogale, in Lagos on September 3, 2025, has rejected a reported plea bargain offer.
Ololade Ajayi of DOHS Cares Foundation told Naija Feminists Media that during proceedings at Ikeja High Court, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Lintex raised the possibility of a plea bargain offering ₦20 million in exchange for a reduced sentence to seven years.
Recall that Lintex Ogale stabbed Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, to death at her Lagos apartment on the night of September 3, 2025, months after she ended their relationship due to his violent behaviour.
Deborah, a 24-year-old interior designer who had recently completed her NYSC, had blocked Lintex Ogale across all communication platforms, but he continued to create new channels to reach and threaten her.
On the night of the murder, Lintex disguised himself as a dispatch rider to gain access to her estate. When security grew suspicious and denied him entry, he scaled the fence, cut her gas pipe in a failed attempt to cause an explosion, then broke into her apartment and stabbed her multiple times.
Her injuries were so severe that her lungs were perforated. Neighbours subdued Ogale and held him until police arrived. He was arrested at the scene and later remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
In January 2026, as the case came up for hearing at the Yaba Magistrate Court, Deborah’s sister, Hope Moses, said that Deborah was a successful interior designer with two degrees whose life was cut short by a jealous ex-partner, and called on the court to transfer the case to the High Court for proper accountability. The case has since been transferred to the Ikeja High Court, where proceedings are now ongoing.
According to the DOHS Cares Foundation, Deborah Moses was the 140th reported femicide victim in Nigeria in 2025.
Consequently, the family of Deborah rejected the offer, insisting on justice for the deceased. The case was adjourned to June 1, 2026, for further hearing.
