Elizabeth Adams – Educator and Model

  1. Why did you decide to become a model?

I decided to be a model to show the world the strength and abilities that people with albinism have.

  1. What misconception about albinism would you like to change?

There is a harmful misconception, especially in Africa, that people with albinism are “ingredients for wealth.” Many are hunted for their body parts, which is a terrifying reality.

  1. What advice do you have for young girls living with albinism?

Keep your head up and continue improving yourself, especially in a world where girls are already disadvantaged just for being female. Trust the process by taking up spaces and seizing opportunities as they come.

  1. What is your goal for the next five years?

I aim to see a world where inclusion is taken seriously and not just as a privilege. In the next five years, I’m working on raising a community of people who will be more socially conscious and inclusive. I’ll do this by preparing training sessions and other necessary capacity-building events that will help more people be articulate and advocate for their rights.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s first-ever Albinism Beauty Pageant is set to hold on August 9, 2025, in Lagos. Individuals or organisations interested in partnering or sponsoring the event can contact MGC via email at hello@mistyglamcompany.com or WhatsApp at 0704 870 4115.
